Working with parents we offer a holistic early intervention and support program to provide specific language impaired children with strategies to self manage academic, social and emotional skills.
Whilst Peel LDS has many similarities to a mainstream school the overall focus is more specific. As the aim of the programme is to exit children back into their mainstream school the curriculum is structured to allow this transition to occur smoothly.
The classroom curriculum is an adapted mainstream curriculum with major emphasis on oral language and literacy development. Specific oral language sessions are held during the week to promote particular language areas (e.g. narrative, semantics, syntax).
